We nearly went to California for our spring vacation. At that point, I was looking at getting a "Go Los Angeles" card, which for $263 would have given us 5 days with Six Flags, Knotts Berry Farm, Legoland California & Universal Studios.

Instead, we decided to go to Orlando and take a Disney Cruise. Before the cruise, we have 6 days in Orlando. We did Disney last time, and this time would like to focus on Universal, and perhaps a day at Legoland or another park. We are staying at the Coco Key water park & resort, so we are not interested in water parks.

So far I haven't had any luck in finding a decent deal that includes Universal Islands, Universal Studios, plus possibly Legoland. Also, I know that I previously saw a "dine all day" option at Universal Orlando that let you stop at their fast service restaurants multiple times all day for about 25 bucks, but that seems to be gone now - replaced with a "eat one meal for $20" plan, evidently. Argh!

If anyone has been to Universal Orlando recently, and has any tips for saving $$, I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

Islands of Adventure > Universal Studios Florida

At Islands of Adventure, the busiest (and most awesome!) ride will likely be "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter section. While you're there, get the non-alcoholic Butterbeer drink (get it frozen) at one of the carts (you'll see a line for it), or inside the Three Broomsticks restaurant.

Another ride worth going to is The Incredible Hulk roller coaster. I enjoyed the Poseidon's Fury show.

The food at Mythos Restaurant is good, but not amazing. If you do go, order their Warm Gooey Chocolate Banana Cake (dessert)...it was :thumbsup: . Also, when you're inside the restaurant, go outside (maybe when you're waiting for your meal) towards the water, and turn around. To make reservations, go to: http://www.opentable.com/mythos-at-universals-islands-of-adventure or call 407-224-4012.

For Universal Studios Florida, I most enjoyed the Men In Black Alien Attack (shooting game). Tip: If you want to score more points, sit on the left side. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (their roller coaster) is fairly popular. The rides/shows I enjoyed: Shrek 4-D, and Terminator 3-D. If you need to kill some time (maybe after eating lunch), a good show to catch is Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue.

Food: OMG, Finnegan's Bar and Grill (Irish restaurant) in the New York dining section was amazing. I had their Scotch Eggs and Shepherd's Pie. Delish!:thumbsup: If you want dessert, go to San Francisco Pastry Company. (Another option: The Beverly Hills Boulangerie had yummy-looking cheesecakes)

Almost forgot, there are 2 rates for parking (Regular $16 and Preferred $22). The parking attendant I asked didn't seem to think the Preferred was worth the extra money.

Have fun!

Woah there's a Legoland in Florida?

Side note, that go LA pass sounds horrible. All of those parks are no where near each other.
