YOu may want to get an agp card and motherboard instead, unless you plan on upgrading inthe future. The agp boards are less, and then you could get a 9600xt or a used 9800pro which would proably perform better. If you can stretch your buget a little though, I'd recomend staying pci-e and geting a 6600gt instead of the 6600, the 6600gt is considerably better. I think they are around 159 at newegg right now.

If you're not going to OClock too far get a VIA based board like the Abit AX8 or Soltek. They don't need the noisey chipset fan like nforce4 boards.

I like your 6600 choice.

Also before you buy a Mobo make sure it has the output features you need like Firewire, parallel port or serial ports. Some of these newer boards leave the later 2 off.

Yeah. VIA is a great option. I think I'm going to get a K8T890 chipset board instead of a nForce 4.

I have an nforce2 mobo right now and they have pretty much sold me on that idea =P

I acually reconsidered it and I am going to get a 6600GT card from a guy on the forums for $155. I already got the processor the guy I bought it from told me it OC's to 2.4 - 2.6ghz no problem so that's what I was really looking for. I think I will probley get a mobo within the range of $125 - $150 so I will look into that more but thanks guys for the advice, I will look over it again and if I change my mind I can always go AGP =P

yeah the xp90 will work. and the processor to not sure what the first link is suppose to show ......shows a whole list of video cards. what power supply you thinking of using? dfi recommends 480 watts with 24 native pin power cord.

so you got a 6600gt, bit difference between a 6600 and 6600gt... personally i would go msi, i have a few friends and although i think dfi boards are nice, they tried them and had serious issues, i am pretty sure dfi boards are really picky about ram. you could even go chaintech or foxconn with a nf4 if you don't plan on o/c too much.

You can pretty much ignore the FSB on the motherboard, it's just how fast stuff travels through the motherboard. Personally, I like the better RAID/hard drive options on the MSI, and the DFI is picky about RAM; some RAM just won't work on it. The DFI is better for heavy overclcoking though, but if you want a nice, moderate, overclock, and a ton of nice features, then get the MSI.

Technically, any K8 CPU doesn't have an FSB, it's just the normal people's way of describing the interface speed between the chip(set) and the CPU. The K8s don't have an FSB because the memory controller is part of the CPU's functions.

Ahh ok Thanks guys. Yes I am just looking for a nice Ocing board that won't break the bank but will keep up so I don't have a upgrade every year...

Here's my final setup

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109119 - $41
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130492 - $152
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103501 - $145 (Used OEM, not the exaxt one)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122208 - $155 (used)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144102 - $59.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817192002 - $30.00

Total = $582 - $145 - $155 - $165 = $117

I already paid for the processor, Video card and I am selling my rig for $165. Let me know if there are any problems with how I have set this up. Also would you reccommend I get 64bit windows or should I stick with 32 for now? and I had a AMD 2600+ Barton would I see an improvement from this setup?

I have this ram http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-401&depa=0
