Do you need firewire, eSATA or a second PCI-e x16 slot? For the usage you've outlined, I wouldn't think so. Save yourself some money and get the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L or Abit IP35-E. They're not only less expensive but they have a newer Intel-based chipset which is more likely to be compatible with future processors should you decide to upgrade.

Also, the Arctic Silver is unnecessary. The stock heatsink comes with pre-applied thermal interface material which is just fine for your purposes. That computer isn't going to generate a whole lot of heat anyway.
 
If you don't intend to go sli (and there is little reason to sli a 8400) then follow DSF's advice and go for a p35 board.

The 2 ide connectors would come in handy for my 2 ide drives and my 2 ide dvd-rom's(one's a burner). That is the main reason I choose this motherboard.

eSATA and firewire are just nice extras. Plus I think my camcorder uses firewire so ...?
