I am building a new machine which I do about every 3-5 years. I will use it for gaming, coding, and alot of video encoding. I generally keep my machine up and running 24/7 so I want to make sure the components I buy are going to last. I have preety much always used Asus motherboards but I like the looks of the DFI LanParty SLI DR. However the 1 year warranty makes me a little nervous.

Here is what I have come up with:

Case: ASPIRE X-Navigator ATXA8NW/500
Motherboard: DFI LanParty SLI DR -or- ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester
Video Card: EVGA 7800 GTX KO -or- EVGA 7800GT
RAM: OCZ PC3500 Gold Edition GX 2:512 -or- 2:1gig
HD: 2 striped WD 74 Raptors

I am having trouble deciding between the DFI LanParty SLI DR and the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium and what speed of Ram to go with. I would like to run PC4000 but I am unsure how the Asus board would handle it. Any suggestions?
Also would the EVGA 7800 GTX KO be overkill?

Personally I would go with the Asus board and 2gb OCZ Platinum EL PC3200. And the video card depends on the monitor you will use, if your monitor can do high res like 1600x1200 go with the 7800, if your monitor is a 19" or less a 6800GT would be fine.

And I wouldn't use the power supply that comes with that case. Wouldn't risk all that high dollar hardware on that generic PS. Get a quality PS.
