I need some thoughts from y'all regarding a new rig. My needs include video & audio encoding and playing the new FPS games like Bioshock. I would like to play the games on medium or higher at 1680x1050. I plan to use the same case and 3 month old SATA optical and hard drives. Here's what I picked out:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R (v. 2.0 out?)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB)
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
I also want to OC to 3 GHz. Will this rig meet my needs and be able to reach my OC goal?
Additionally, I envision updating my video card when Nvidia decides to release something new and dropping in one of Intels new Quads sometime next summer.
Will this setup meet my current and future needs? Thanks.
