Need Opinions on LCD Purchase

I'm in the market for an LCD, and would like to get some opinions. The main use for the monitor will be gaming, and budget isn't really an issue. I don't think I want a widescreen LCD, because games, at least to me, look stretched out and disproportionate.

Anywho, a 19-20" inch non-widescreen LCD would suffice, unless you can somehow convince me widescreen monitors don't make games look asymmetrical.

I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance.

The VX922 would most likely take the cake if you pitted it against the FP93G, but the BenQ is still a great product.

I've heard that lower response times usually mean poorer color reproduction. Is that true?

Does anybody know anything about warranty experiences with BenQ? I see them recommended as a quality product often, but their website does not inspire confidence. Has anybody had to deal with them to replace a bad monitor, particularly one that isn't DOA, with bad pixels or something like that?

Almost all new games support Widescreen Gaming. It is almost given that any new games coming out in the future will be supporting Widescreen Mode. An no the picture does not look stretched in WS mode. u actually get to see more than what a regular aspect user might bee seeing.

The plusses far outwiegh the negs.

I would look at this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014105

With free shipping its a no brainer.

Also trust me. once u get used to widescreen u wont ever go back to regular aspect.

Of more concern at this point with gaming is can the rest of your rig handle it?

I mean, only the most uber gaming rigs can hope to play Oblivion or FEAR at 1680 with any reasonable amount of performance.

I used to play at 1280X1050 or 1280X1200 dont remember on my 2005FPW and I couldnt notice the pixellation which comes out of not playing at the monitors native resolution.

IMO the 1280 resolution is the sweet spot for most games in terms of acceptable framerates.
