Need opinions on keyboards

I am about to upgrade the last item in my computer to be upgraded - my keyboard. I have been using a Gateway keyboard for the past 2 years (hey, they gave it to me for free at work one day...) and it has been a super keyboard. Great tactile response, not too clickey sounding, and the board itself was contoured for ergonomic ease of reaching all the keys easily as a touch typist. Two things about it I don't dig anymore: no media control keys and it doesn't match my new M$ Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (it's silver and charcoal and the keyboard is the light beige that most cases are colored).

So with that in mind, I want to get a new keyboard with the tactile response, not too noisy to type on, good ergonomic design, media control keys, and a silver or grey finish that will match my mouse. I have been to Best Buy to mess around with their floor samples, but I think most of them have been abused because even the expensive M$ and Logitech models they had sucked pretty bad. I know you AnandTechers love your computing experience as much as I do and we all have to type a lot so y'all will know which keyboards are the best out there.

Can I get some feedback from y'all? Thanks.

Most people do have keyboards attached but don't require them to be color coordinated with the mouse. A local comp shop nearby sells a BTC keyboard for $9.99 with the all the attributes you describe except for the silver/gray color that could possibly be changed with two cans of spray paint and a lot of masking tape. The other thing you could do is just get an I Mac and be done with it (;

Well there was no need to go there now was there? ;)

And TONS of people match components. Go to the FS/FT forum and look for all the people trying to scrounge up black parts to match a case or monitor. It is a very common practice today to try to coordinate this stuff.

On a more on topic note, I have seen some logitech and memorex keyboards that fit the bill but they've all been cordless. I'll check Antec next.

Gray/Silver might be tough but finding a black keyboard shouldn't be tough and that'll match much better than a beige keyboard anyway. ;)
