Don't listen to those idiots leaving reviews at newegg either. Both boards are good choices. The MSI is very quirky and hard to set up, but once it is going, it is supposed to be an excellent performer. The Epox boards are usually easy installs and nice performers, the problems people are talking about in the reviews at newegg about the Epox are idiots with inadequate PSUs and older models trying to install a Venice chip without updating BIOS.

And on the other hand I did not find the Neo2 "quirky" at all. It was very easy to set up,... I installed all the parts, then,.... I umm,.... turned it on. Dunno whats quirky about that. In any case I think they are both fine boards.

Im leaning to the EPoX mainly becuase my last EPOx lasted years and was a board I always relied on when newer ones from other manu screwed up. I have an MSI in my computer right now, and Its a good bored i agree, but i dont really use any of the utility the CELL chip provides. That along with the fact i know i wont turn in the manu rebate means the EPoX is cheaper and just as good.

Also yeah, many of the responces on lots of products on neweeg just make me want to respond with a flame, but i contain myself ;)

"trying to install a Venice chip without updating BIOS."

Exactly how do i update the bios if the only chip i have wont boot? Or will it still boot to a floppy/bios without haveing to update the bios first?
