Need opinions on a laptop I'm considering on eBay

I'm in the market for a laptop and came across this on eBay.

I was going to purchase the same model (HDX9494NR), but this particular one was manually upgraded to the Extreme processor. On HP's website, it's an extra $975 for the same processor. If it weren't for the voided warranty, I'd probably be all over this. What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

Edit: This is going to be a desktop replacement. I live in a small apartment in NYC, and my HTPC workstation is taking up too much space.

The "extreme" processor is more of a showing off thing than an actual performance booster. I would just avoid it.

PS:
I would never call that a laptop, it's more like a mobile desktop.

I haven't read up on any of the new processors lately, so thanks for pointing that out. I think I'm leaning towards bidding for it, but now with a lower limit.

What will you use this PC for?

Mostly work (coding and some graphics) and as an HTPC. I should divulge that my den/living room is 7'x8', so my wife and I are trying to declutter. It'll be nice to be rid of all the cabling, the workstation and the monitor.
