Need opinions on a cheap TV...at Best Buy.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I probably won't have my own place for another couple years, which is when I'll be working. Then it's time for the bigass widescreen 😀. But this one looks alright?

Well if it breaks in 9 months I'll get a free replacement 😉. I just took a gander at Sam's website, but they're TVs are more expensive. They have a 20" flat screen for the same price, but I'd rather have something bigger.

I actually have a Sansui VCR/DVD combo here at my mom's that's been working great for a year or so.

Did you take a gander at Sam's Club's website or their B&M store?

Usually the store has a larger selection of cheaper and more expensive items.

Just do yourself a favor, check out Sam's Club B&M first before going to BB.

Sansui isnt generic. It is very popular overseas..
my dad had a 3000$ Sansui stereo when I was a kid everyone thought it was the Shizz
Sasui generally is found at Commisaries on base etc.

Also Wait till thanksgiving and there will be amazing sales everywhere....there just might be a nice deal on a TV you like

It sure wouldn't hurt to look at Sam's before I get the one at Best Buy, but is there a realistic chance that I'll find a similarly priced TV with 2 A/V in, 1 A/V out, and S-video there? And one of a more reputable brand no less?

Edit: What's B&M?

Edit 2: The thing is I'm moving back into the dorm on Friday, which is when I'd get the new TV, so I'd rather not wait until Thanksgiving (although it's just a couple days after my b-day 😀).

not likely. If you want 27" with all the options in a name brand set (Sony, Toshiba) you should expect to pay ~ high $200s - low $300s

That's what I thought. I feel a little more comfortable buying from an electronics store rather than a department-style store too.

B&M = Brick and Mortar or physical store

Oh, ok. Yeah I'll probably run in there before I make my decision.

its got Svideo 🙂 thats a plus

Indeed it is. The most important features I need are 2+ A/V in and 1 A/V out. S-video and/or composite are just icing on the cake 🙂.

I noticed what appears to be a good deal at Best Buy...if that's possible 😉. I currently have a 19" TV with just a coax plug. I have a VCR, stereo, PS2, and Gamecube and this TV would accomodate my needs for very cheap. Because it's so cheap I'm thinking perhaps it's not too reliable or high quality. Any opinions/advice would be appreciated.

Not bad, I might have to check into best buy. I was in Sams B&M and they had a fairly decent 27" tv forget which bran though, maybe an akai or sylvania or something. I think the Sansui from BB is better for the price.

That's not too bad, i wish i had the room for a huge TV in my room, but alas, i am only "stuck" with my toshiba 20" flat screen 😉

I saw a Sylvania at the Sam's site, but it didn't have audio output.

The TV stand I'm using can hold up to a 32", so upgrading won't effect the space at all. 🙂
