After reading around I came to the conclusion that there really isnt much of a difference from an 8800 gts to gtx when gaming at around ~1600 x ~1000. So since there really isnt that much difference on a 22'' monitor is there any reason for me to even get 8800 gts? Im currently using EVGA 7600 gt but its starting to show its age. If there really isnt much of a fps gain would it be a good idea to purchase 8600s? or something in that range because I would also like to future proof my comp for future gaming. Thanks for reading

The 8800GTS seems to show its superiority even at 1600x1200. For example, in Fear, the 8800GTS 640MB gets 58 FPS while the 8600GTS gets 26 FPS.

Yup I just reread the article by AnAnd and there is a pretty big difference. Now the question is does it matter if I get a 320mb or a 640mb gts at these resolutions?
