Need opinion on GPS brands and models with high Hackability.

I borrowed my freind's Magellen Maestro 5310, It looks pretty good. I updated the firmware for him as well as got ahold of the map upgrade for him. I now want a GPS. I know they are pretty cheap but I'm interested in getting one with high Hackability.

I noticed with the magellen maestro it uses an sd card slot and I was able to access the device's internal memory as well as modify the firmware/maps just like that. I was even able to upload 3rd party OS on the gps that played MP3s and Videos. I like this type of thing. I was curious do all of the gps models allow this or are easy to hack. I don't want to get the exact same one as my freind because it's kind of an old model...

cool, but a good Garmin really kills all the other competition. I suppose it's fun to hack the others and such, but dunno... i'm not really into hacking GPSes...
