Dear all:
I am currently planning to build an above average game machine with using the windows media OS (I have a copy of the software already) and a TV card. I am planning to spend around 400 dollars for a SFF case, 1GB Ram, Video card, TV card and a CPU and heatsink.
Since I haven't checked out the cpu and video card for quite awhile. I need help to pick the right hardwares. Thanks. I will use the machine with a 32 to 42 inches LCD TV/ play some FPS shooting game (hardly online!), record TV shows/sports. It would be nice if I can get a dual TV Turners card in this budget. I normally use my D600 laptop for my email, web surfing and work.
Thanks!

Alex

Well $400 if interested will buy from me:
A biostar 200N SFF
2500+ that will oc easily to 3200+ speeds
ATI AIW 9600XT
ATI Remote
Another ATI Tuner for the dual your asking for
120 gig hdd

You can use the onboard Nvidia sound since it has optical in and out this way you can squeeze in the other tuner into the open pci slot.

I'd see if you can find a cheap socket 754 system. The Sempron 3100+ is supposed to perform quite well.
Also, I'm pretty sure that that motherboard lacks optical in. (Heck, I think that you need to get the breakout box on even the high-end SoundBlaster cards to get that.)
In the way of memory, Corsair's Value Select line is quite nice. You can get a gig (2x512mb) for 91.75.
In terms of graphics cards, the AIW 9600 XT is quite nice. My friend got the older (and less feature-rich) 9600 Pro for his PC (it was 130$ a few years ago), and it works beautifully. The RF remote wonder is also the best thing since sliced bread.

FYI the Biostar Ideq 200n is a full sff with case and mobo together both made by Biostar. It has Optical in, ive used it.

And I forgot to mention 256mb of ddr 333 will be going in it. I know its not much but its all I got laying around.
