Can anyone help by chance? I installed MSI Afterburner to overclock my 5870 but it won't go past the limits imposed by ATI CCC.

easy to bypass. Afterburner with unofficial overclocking method enabled, rivatuner, amdgpuclocktool will allow you to change core mhz into the 1200mhz range. (unlock overdrive lock icon in ccc) Whether it's stable or not beyond 900mhz depends on voltage and if your voltage circuitry is adjustable via software.

:)

although a bios flash would be the proper way to do it, imo ;p

+1

Not sure if the fan bug is still active with the bios mod way tho....Being on water it didn't effect me anyways. The flash goes so quick the odds of failing are slim if done with a bootable flash drive :)

use ATI Tray Tools, works for me, don't bother installing CCC, just install driver only. excellent utility, lots of options.
