I'm looking for headphones that provide some degree of isolation, but don't make my ears (and my whole body) all sweaty in the summer.

I got some koss plugs, but for some reason they just don't work for me. half of the time, they fall out as the earplug material expands, the other half of the time they stay well just like normal earplugs but they barely give me any isolation. and they're always a huge time-consuming pain to put in.

is there something that fits my requirements for less than 1 zillion dollars?

i think a price range is in order.

iirc sony makes a killer pair of open airs that you can hardly feel on your head (for about 400 bucks though :()

You might try Etymotic's ER-6 earphones. $100 from Palm's website. Guaranteed to be better quality than your koss buds, and they advertise 37db of noise reduction IIRC.

sony d66sl eggos... they connect by a very thin layer of padding.. so no sweat accumulation

heh, yeah forgot that. $30 max

On that same note, anyone know of some ear 'plug' type phones that are made for small earholes? Those darn things always fall out and half the time they don't fit in my ears to begin with!

ksc 35's are very nice for their price, but no isolation.

how much is 1 zillion dollars, to you? i got a pair of sony (mdx-50 or something along those lines) that were decent, for 40 bucks. They came with three different sized of plugs.

If you can justify more, you can find a pair of shure e2c's for just under 100 bucks that give some nice sound, and they come with like 5 different sets of plugs, hard and soft.

ah, it's spring break finally, so I'm beginning to remember all the things I wanted to do but never had enough time.
finding good earbuds is one of them.

so here's a bump for more responses, remember my max price is $30

Koss KSC50? Recommended by Howard.

I am looking for something I can run with. Reading reviews about Koss KSC50 and it looks good. The range seem to be $10-20.

Probably Sony MDR-EX71 plugs.. they aren't as highly regarded as other headphones.. but they'll isolate decently.

KSC-35 is non-sweaty, but it has zero isolation.
