So this NMR spectrum has confounded me to no end.

The molecule is cyclohexene-cis-1,2-dicarboxylic acid. It should be symmetrical across the horizontal axis.

The easy peaks are the OH acid peak at around 12 and the vinyl H peaks at 5.6. However, while the acid peak's splitting can be explained, the vinyl peak's splitting cannot. Looking at half the molecule, a vinyl H should be split by at least two hydrogens (at the least, one, if the CH2 hydrogens are equivalent). However, the peak looks like it's not split by anything. wth! There are two tiny tiny tiny peaks near the very base of the large peak (which you can't really see in the pic), but are those peaks enough to call it a triple peak?

Also, I really have no idea what's going on between 2 and 3ppm. I recognize that the four-peak structure should be the alkane CH2 hydrogens, but the splitting doesn't make any sense. Someone help me!
