Howdy all... have a 3Com 3C905-TX-NM and it's been giving me a fair number of problems. I'm at the point where I want to replace it and just wanted to hear from folks that have any info or one of these two NICs...

Intel Pro 1000 T
3Com 3CR990-TX-97

Opinions?

Thanks

Speaking to you via the Intel Pro card right now. Had it about 3 weeks. No problems as of yet.

If your connection is DSL or Cable, I'm not sure why you would need a Gigabit adapter such as the Intel Pro1000...In my opinion, the 3COM is the
better choice and will cost you considerably less. I came across this NIC comparison article
from Tom's. Think you'll find it useful...:)

You sold me on it! :)
Even thought the 3Com also has a coprocessor, $54 is a sweet price for the Intel Pro1000!

Network performance is great, downloads smoother (not as much variation) and CPU util is lower. Seems like less packetloss as well.

I'd recommend... sure some of this is tied to network conditions... but not all.
