Need New Video Card.

Looking to get a new Video Card in the $200 dollar range. My 6600GT just broke and XFX has been more than difficult in ATTEMPTING to get an RMA number so i've given up on them.

Current Specs are:
P4 2.4C (not OC'd)
1G RAM
P4S800 (so no PCI-E cards)
PSU is a TurboLink 420W

Was thinking of getting an X800GTO, the 256-bit memory and 12 pipelines intrigued me...just want something that was better than the 6600GT, is an AGP model and runs for around 200...would be willing to stretch it to 220 but it's gotta be a pretty fvcking good deal for that.

An x800gto is about the best you can get for that pricerange (new).

You may also want to look for good deals on these cards. They're all faster than the gto and are sorted from slowest to fastest:

1. x800pro
Shop.ati.com sometimes sells these for $185 shipped refurbished with a 3-year warranty. (out of stock right now) I just bought one used at a great deal of $155 from the forums.
2. x800xl
16 pipelines, sometimes as low as $200 used/refurbished. Around $250 new when not on sale.
3. x800xt
One of the fastest agp cards - around $300+ new, but they've been selling for $200-$260 used/refurbished.


A 6800 is also worth considering and is a bit better than the 6600gt, but doesn't compare to any of the ati cards in DirectX games. As far as new cards go, it's the fasest card you can buy for around $160.

I would hassle XFX alot more to get your RMA even if you get a new card. Try calling up the local office.

do you have anymore money so u can upgrade your system? the celeron processor may be a bottleneck so it won't be worth it to get the best card for $200 possible

if you want shader model 3, get a 6800nu and you might be able to unlock some pipelines on it.

if you dont want it, im not TOO sure about which ati card is best for that price
