Need new RAM for XP 1600 +

Hey there,

I originally had a MSI K7T-Turbo (Orig) but, I decided to try a
Turbo2. Well that was not the prob at all. So I got a XP 1600+.
The only thing is since I had a T-Bird 900 it is PC100. This is not
the best RAM as you can see. Well here's the deal either way
I am going to buying new ram for my XP 1600+. The good
thing is that the comp guy said as long as I treat the RETAIL
Turbo 2 good I could bring it back. Well here's what I am thinking.

If I am going to be getting new ram......instead of spending
$50-$60.......why not spend $10-$20 more and just go with DDR
RAM. Also the MSI KT3 Ultra is only $10 more then the Turbo2.
$20-$30 more and the system would fly. Hmmm....the only thing
is like I said is I NEED NEW RAM.

These are the BRANDS I am looking at:
1) Crucial 2100
2) Kingston 2100
3) Micron 2100

I have had good luck with Kingston PC100 with an Old Compaq
but I am worried about compatibility.
Any known issues with KT3 Ultra and Kingston DDR RAM ??

BTW I picked my XP 1600 + up for $66 at NewEgg and that day it went down to
$59.99

Crucial and Micron is the same. Now flip a coin and choose between Kingston or Crucial.😀

Crucial and Micron are the SAME ??!!
Do you mean they are made by the same company ????

If that's the case then is Micron a lower version of crucial or vice versa ??

Crucial uses Micron chips exclusively. However, there are generic manufacturers that use Micron as well. So Crucial has a little better name brand.
