My Fortran died after a power outage today and the fuse inside is good. Must have taken a spike. Luckily it held it and didn't hurt my system. Right now I am running on a spare 430 I keep around for such situations.

I am leaning towards the Cooler master Real Power pro 550W as all the reviews I have found are great for a PSU under $60 after rebate.

What about this Corsair for $12.00 more after rebate, but less upfront?

Any other I should consider in the under $100 range?

My 430 handles this rig OK, but I want head room. I will never do Crossfire or SLI.

Thanks,
Mark

The Corsair is the better of the 2. But it would really help if you list your system specs. Then we could point out a top quality and affordable option for you. It may be that the VX450W from Corsair will be more then able to power your system and ave you some money if money is a concern here.

Right now I have a CD2 6400 @3.0ghz 6 HD's, LSI RAID card, BenQ DVDRW, 2gb DDR2, Asus P5B-E motherboard, 7950GT 512MB video.

I plan on upgrading the Motherboard to one with at least one extra X8 PCI-E slot so I can replace the RAID card with something a little faster and
will hold larger drives.

The way I look at it in a year I could replace most of this setup, but I will only ever do one video card.

If I go with the Corsair is ZZF the best price around at $72 AR shipped?

I have a $100 Visa gift card I plan to use for this purchase. I cannot go over the $100 in initial cost since I have no way to bump the amount even a cent. Obviously I can use any remaining funds on something else, but I am not looking to be really cheap either.

Any 500W modular for $100 or less initial cost you would recommend?

BUY.com has the 520HX for under $100.00 this weekend. Unless there is a reason I shouldn't get it I think I will get that.

Thanks,
Mark

If you don't want dual-GPU, then there is no need to join the PSU fan-boy snob club. The Antect Eartwatts 500 costs $30 to $50 AR. Runs cool and quiet. Comes with 3-yr warranty. Unit is advertised as dual rail but is actually a single rail Seasonic capable of 34A @ +12VDC.

Thanks for the info on the Earthwatts, but right now I can't find it for less then about $80. There seems to be no active rebate
at the moment. If you know of one please let me know.
I think I am going with the HX which after rebate and coupon (5% off at buy.com) will be about $75 shipped.

Thanks,
Mark

Crap just when I had a decided it looks like the HX won't fit in my case without modding it.
I have a Lian-LI close to what the 1000 is now. It's just about a 1/2" too long it seems.
Oh well I guess modular is out.

I did find one Modular that would fit. What about the Enermax Liberty 500W?
Just barely fits under the $100 limit at ewiz.

Just tried to buy the VX-550 at ZZF and they won't take my visa giftcard.
I guess I will have to buy from somewhere else, but it kills me because they had the best price.
