making this for a friend, he wants to still use his sdram for a bit. is there an sdram mobo that will hold like an AMD XP 2100 or a fast XP proc?

not a fan of the K7S5a, dont want to start a flame war, but mine ended up dying so i got an Epox 8KHA personally. thx for the ideas, please keep 'em coming...

K7S5A😀

I have no problems, and I believe the newer revisions cleaned up any bugs that originally affected the SiS735 & K7S5A.

Edit: The K7S5A even supports AMD Thoroughbred core chips, with a BIOS update, so it is able to support all the K7 chips (nice if your friend plans to upgrade sometime)

also, i have this board. no problems very stable.

You may want to consider holding off buying the XP 2100 if you are using sdram. The memory bandwidth of sdram (1GB/s) is going to hold that CPU back. The best you can do is about a 1.2GHz Athlon.

You may want to look into a Shuttle AK12a mobo. It only supports SDRAM, but it supports 100/133 SDRAM. It's what I just used to upgrade my old PII 350 and keep my old RAM (PC133 256MB x 2). I'll admit that I only went with a Duron 1GHz, but for $114 for the mobo, Duron and fan, I think I got a decent deal.

Hope that this helps.
