So the ancient, huge HP laserjet 4v at my moms newspaper is going out and they need a new one. All it needs is to print good quality 11x17 (for proofreading purposes with small text, needs to be good so its readable, in black, and my mom prefers laser (I don't know if laser is better vs inkjet or w/e). I don't know jack about printers so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction

At work we have Xerox 5550 printers that are 11x17 capable. The base model has 2 paper trays - both can handle 11x17 up to 500 sheets per tray. It has optional duplexer to print on both sides. It's also possible to add a 1000 sheet feeder (2 500 sheet trays) under and there is an option 2000 sheet feeder for only 8.5x11.

The Xerox 7400 is 11x17 capable and can print color and has similar feeder options as the 5550. The down side is that for letter paper, the cost per page is something like 2.6 cents per page of B&W. For comparison, one B&W page on the 5550 is 0.8 cents.
