Oh sorry --- under 40 dollars...... right now i have 450watt PSU but i got it with the case for 40 dollars... with the same order i want to get EVGA 6800gt and ppl tell me that the PSU wont power it .. so ill get new one....
my specs
p4 3.0ghz OC 3.3
p4c800-e delx
1024 pc3200
and i will get 6800gt

my CASE AND PSU http://www.tigerdirect.com/app...No=720575&Sku=D15-1010

The Power supply on the other hand. I guess with 50 bucks you cant expect much, but seriously, it is a really low quality power supply. I put my GeForce 6800 in, thinking 450W is enough (which by the way it is) and the power supply dies on me.

E-POWER? I never even heard of them... Must be generic.

Nobody here will reccomend that you get a generic PSU. The link works ok for me.

A 350w enermax or Antec would be enough. I had a bad expirience with a 420w thermaltake, so I can't recomend it for something you'll use as your main PC, I have the replacement for mine running in my backup PC, and it's been fine, but the first one died after only 2 days. I was running a very similar system to yours with a 350w enermax. 6800GT and a 2.8E running at 3.5ghz, along with 2 raptors.

What are you guys thinking. He is running a P4 system fully loaded and looking to get a 6800GT. The Antecs ae good and will probably do OK but i would NOT get a 350Watt.

Save your money. The PSU is the most critical part of the computer, DONT SKIMP!

I would get the Seasonic SUper Tornado series, or any of the higher quality PSU's. (OCZ and PCP&C, and Zippy are a bit overkill though). Look at Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Seasonic, Silverstone, Zalman.

Not Tt... there PSU's have weak rails, and poor voltage regulation (ie spikes) They are for entry level systems, not for a system comparable to yours.

gotta agree with kevin on the TT, although i think the rails are ok on my 480, the spikes kinda concern me so i'll probably upgrade it.

i'm thinking the ocz 450(?) modular, although i also heard any unused terminals actually hurt overall perfof the psu. i don't knowanymore, i feel like just giving money to smeone to buy one for me, lol. too many damn opinions.
