Need new PC - please help

Well its time for a new PC. I've been so out of the game that I have no idea on where to start.

So please can members help me out? The PC is primarily for games, under 1000 bucks. So the best gaming performance (don't really care about overclocking, but if there's a gem out there vid/proc wise then fine)

Thanks for any help...I'm so far removed from PCs I don't even know how to start.

Great sound card would be a plus.

I keep hearing ATI all the way, but like I said...I'm outta the game.

This is just about perfect!!!! The only thing I would do is drop the HSF and OEM CPU in favor of a retail box with 3 yr warrenty, but that is my personal preference.

The ATIs are very nice cards, but they cost more. A friend of mine has this exact same card and OCed it and hit 10000 in 3dmark03 with a 3200 chip (AMD64)
