My mouses left click died today between the hours of 6:30 and 7:00. I have been having to use right click and clicking left click for about a minute befor i get a response. So i need help decideing what mouse i should get. I want a good gaming mouse that will work with about any mouse pad. And i dont want it to be too expensive. Thanks. Please provide a link to the mouse, im going to run up to a store to get it.

I have been using a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for a long time. It worked great for many years before the material that contacted my thumb started to corrode a little bit. I decided to be a whiny bitch and call Microsoft on the warranty. They told me to fax them a picture of the bottom of the mouse with the serial number, and they would send me a new one without even taking the one I had. So I'd had the new one a few years now and still love it. It is optical not laser, but it scans 6,000 times per second and I haven't had trouble on any surface so far. I would avoid the ones with the tily wheel or the oversized side buttons, as they can get in the way. Anyways, it is better to go to different local retailers and feel them yourself so you know what they will be like.

If you are doing any gaming, the g series is worth it. The g7 is $40 AR + shipping @ buy.com. The g5 is $48 shipped from somewhere. The g3... don't bother. If you're not gaming, get either a ms laser or logitech mx1000. Lemme get those links...

EDIT: here you go:
MS laser
G5... $45 shipped
g7 $33 AR?

I have the logitech MX500 and it is great, been using it for over 2 years now and I bought it used so I don't know exactly how old it is. It is finally wearing a little though and the left clicker doesn't always respond to very rapid clicks while gaming anymore (found out the hard way last night in CoD2 when using a semi auto rifle.....)

I totally agree. Either the g7 or I went with the MX1000 which I will want to keep forever.

yup, get the g7. if u must have something now, go to the local pc store and buy their cheap generic 5 dollar mouse to hold you over and keep as a backup

I'd get the mx518 myself. My mx500 has held up very well the past two years I've had it at work. I want to get another for use at home to replace my old MS Intellimouse Explorer. Batteries in it wear out quickly.

Mice are a really personal thing. Myself, I absolutely love my Diamondback. I definitely prefer it over my Viper, my Fatal1ty 1010, and especially over my MX518.

Take a quick look at how you like holding you current mouse. If you're primarily using your fingertips, and you're comfortable with that, get the Diamondback or the G3. If you're holding it mostly with your palm, and you like that, get the MX518.

And if you've ever used a Logitech Mouseman/Wingman mouse and liked it, think about the Fatal1ty 1010.

I have the Razer copperhead, it was REALLY awkward at first but now I prefer it over any other mouse Ive ever tried. There was a good deal on razer mouse posted not too long ago.
