Hey all. I currently have an X2 4400+ on an old Neo2 platinum 939 board with AGP. I have a 6800GT and want to upgrade to a x1900XT with crossfire to upgrade to another card in 4 or 5 months when the price falls again. Problem is my board has only AGP. I was thinking of getting this board

MSI RD480 Neo2-FI Socket 939 ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 CrossFire ATX AMD Motherboard -

from Newegg for $82 and an x1900XTX for $330. Do you think this is a good board for my needs? I also plan on OC'ing my X2 a bit.

If you are serious about running Crossfire spend a little more and get a better mainboard.
I also have an X2 4400+ and 2 X1800GTO's in Crossfire.
My mainboard of choice is an Abit AT8 32X.

Thanks Mangus. Will do. Is it better than the Abit? Why is everyone not liking the $82 MSI? I love my NEO2 platinum (but has AGP). Is it b/c it won't run the crossfire cards good?

Just personal prejudice, ABIT used to be my MB manuf. of choice but I lost confidence in them after the financial scandal. The MSI MB runs two XFIRE boards at pci-e 8x vs. ASUS' 16x for both boards. Of course, no current games or apps appear to saturate the AGP interface let alone the pci-e 8x.

I just lean towards over engineering everything since I still use at least one machine that is 8 years old. :)
