Need new mobo and processor any ideas?

just need a new new mobo and processor
i last had an amd 1700+ duron.
i need something that i can rip and burn and encode DVDs and not have to wait 10 years
and id like the mobo to have sata 1.5gb is fine
 
Right now, I would recommend an ASUS mobo and a C2D CPU.

As a AMD owner, the new C2Ds are the way to go. You got PM.
 
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
Gigabyte or Intel 965P chipset (or nvidia 680 if you have lots of $$ to spend)
ddr2 800 RAM
OC the hell out of it
