Need new memory for overclocking 3000+ 939

The OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev. 2 seems to be some of the best overclocking memory you can get.

OCZ allows you to increase voltage to 2.9 before voiding your warranty, and Anand had this memory in his 3000+ Winchester test machine that did 2.6 GHz, at a FSB-Multi of 290 x 9.

That seems like some stellar RAM.

And in addition, it has a lifetime warranty.

Why is the OZC 3200 so much more expensive than the 4000 and 3700?

The main reason for this is that the 3200 sticks are 2-2-2-5 latency memory, whereas the 3700 and 4000 sticks are 2.5-3-3-8 latency memory.

The 3200 is more expensive because it is lower latency. The 3200 can also hold its low timings pretty high up in frequency.

Lastly, it is popular and in demand. That automatically makes it expensive 😀

Is it alot more? Newegg for 275 doesnt seem like a lot for best quality ram. I believe this is straight up THE best ram you can get for athlon 64

since you consider the 3200 the best performance memory, what cpu would benefit from it the most? 3000 3200 3500. Another question?

How well would this 3200 perform if you did not overclock the above mentioned processors?

My contention is this, I would probably run the system for a while before making any attempts to overclock and would hope the memory would serve me well until I take advantage of it at a later time by overclocking.
