Anyone know a good reputable place I can buy a power adapter for an Inspiron 8200 notebook? Besides ebay or from Dell?

Thanks much

Dell Announces Recall of AC Adapters for Notebook Computers

Washington D.C., October 8, 2004
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Dell Inc., of Round Rock, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 2.9 million AC adapters in the U.S. (4.4 million world wide) used with some models of Dell LatitudeTM , Dell PrecisionTM and Dell InspironTM notebook-style personal computers. The adapters can overheat, which could pose a risk of fire or electrical shock.
Potentially affected adapters were sold with the following models of Dell notebook computers:
Latitude CP, CPi, CPiA, CPtC, CPiR, CPxH, CPtV, CS, CSx, CPxJ, CPtS, C500, C510, C540, C600, C610, C800, C805, C810, V700, C-Dock, C-Port

Inspiron 2500, 2600, 2650, 3700, 3800, 4000, 4100, 4150, 5000, 7500, 7550, 8000, 8100, Advanced Port Replicator, Docking Station

Precision M40
The adapters were also sold separately, including in response to service calls for US$29-$69. The adapters were shipped to customers between Sept. 1998 and Feb. 2002. The words "DELL" and "P/N 9364U", "P/N 7832D" or "P/N 4983D" are printed on the back of the adapters.

Not all the above-described adapters shipped during the noted date range are affected. To determine whether an adapter is affected by this issue, consumers should go to Dell's website at www.delladapterprogram.com. Adapters determined to be affected by this issue should not be used. Customers in the U.S. can also call Dell toll-free at 800-418-8590 or write to the company at Dell Inc., Attn: Adapter Program, 9701 Metric Blvd., Austin, TX 78758. Only the described power adapters are subject to this recall and not the notebook computers themselves.

I assume you want it cheaper then dell has it, which is why you ruled them out. Why did you rule out ebay?

refurbs and some of the feedback looks kinda meh. If someone doesn't know a better place ebay is my only option. But I remember sometime back a link to SOME website that sold Dell stuff on the cheap.

I bought a laptop ac adapter from an eBay merchant--It was a used Toshiba adapter for a Toshiba laptop. Worked great, and cheap!!

I purchased an extra AC adatper on eBay for my Inspiron last month. Works fine. Actually this one seems to run a lil cooler than my original.
