I currently have a volcano 7 hs/f on my amd 1600. The fan is starting to make a strange sound so I might need to go ahead and replace it. Any recommendations? I do not overclock so I don't need some $50.00 hs/f.
I also have a couple of panaflo 80mm fans I guess I could just replace the fan with. ANyone done this?

If you are happy with the HSF, just replace the fan. I think your panaflo would fit. If it fits and your temp is fine, go ahead.

Well, now that I have had time to look into this, it's actually the small fan on my chipset. Where can I get a new one?

How do you like the SVC GC-68? I have one on my Duron 1200 and I get these temps: Idle:40-42C Working: 42-45C cpuBURN: 50C . I have one exhaust fan.

Chipset fans are pointless- marketing fluff. If there's much of a sink at all under there, just discard the fan. Or get a Zalman zmnb32 or zmnb32j northbridge heatsink. Never mess with it again.
