I loved the old Intellimouse...good fit for my hand. Looking for a laser mouse for gaming, with similar size, et al. Please suggest. Price under $100.00.
Thanks.

I'm telling you mx518 = best gaming mouse ever.. No annoying left right clicking on the mouse wheel.. Soft feel. VERY light, good 1000hz response..

Even lighter if you remove the ballast weight.

And it's so cheap, back by logitech.. they'll send you a brand new mouse if it breaks under warrenty... You just can't beat the kind of service.

Though it does bring to light how much we're being overcharged for logitech products.. LOL:D

My mouse has a left/right click wheel but unless I actually use it I can't tell.

Theres no argument or room for personal preference. LEFT RIGHT CLICK is an absolutely NO for hard core gaming.

You can convince yourself the mx1000 is a good mouse because you paid alot for it,,, thats a lie...

mx1000 one of the worst mouse ever.. It can't even track fast enough. if you whip it, the cursor either remains in place, or gets bounced back.

Same goes for that piece of shit mx revolution... they're akin to apple products.. and plagued by
Stockholm syndrome

Go to Staples or some other place and put your hands on the mice. Get a feel for them. Then go home and buy it from Amazon.

Sorry if I'm not hard core enough, but as I already said if you don't click left or right then the scroll wheel is the same as any other.

I paid $60 and I know it's a good mouse from using it a lot including gaming with no issues.

WRONG. The Logitech G9 has this left/right click mousewheel and I have them set up as keystrokes. They work just fine. Love when people say garbage like "no room for argument" when they are absolutely wrong.

I used to love the Intellimouse 3.0, used it for ~6 years. The thing with them though is they died quickly, I went through 3 of them, last one probably didn't even last a year.

So decided to try the Logitech G9. Took a couple weeks to get a feel for it, but man it is eons ahead of the intellimouse. So many features that all are extremely useful to me, it's just an overall spectacular mouse. I even bought a spare when they were down to $24 after rebate, but that still sits in the box brand new after over a year. My original is showing no signs of wear except for the feet, but I got a couple official replacement sets for $4 off ebay.

And left/right click on the wheel is awesome, gives you a couple more buttons when you assign them to a key in game with the macro editor. I never accidently push any of them.

I always use the left and right mouse wheel buttons for changing weapons and I play in competitive leagues.

The MX1000 isn't even a gaming mouse, so why even mention it. I still use my MX1000 for non-gaming, all of the buttons makes life easier to be productive.

OP - I use a G9 but used to love my G7. I have a MX518 but that just sits in my draw.

I'm shocked anyone uses the left/right tilt on the G9. The stiff cylindrical wheel is almost impossible for me to tilt... And after 3 years it's still hard to click. I miss the old rubberized soft click wheels.

g9

the wheel is stiff because in a game the last thing you need is a loosy goosy wheel button. sure you aren't going to use it as a weapons trigger but no one in their right mind would do such a thing, its a rare use button, better to prevent accidental activation than make it too easy. when you click that you are sure you clicked, not the mush button of some other wheels. the tilt wheel function i do use in apps, i set it to copy/paste etc, the g9's auto profile switching and nice led color feed back mean its easy to set the functions to be different in different apps. mx518 might be praised by some, but its driver features are quite literally frozen 5 years back.

The middle mouse button takes some getting use to on the G9, but I've always found the left/right tilt to be incredibly easy. I don't tilt it with the bottom tip of my finger like you would use to push the middle button, but rather move my finger to either side and push it with the side of my finger.
And if the middle button was really easy to push, you'd probably keep pressing both middle and left/right simultaneously whenever trying to use just one. The stiffness prevents it from unintentionally being pressed.

I use the left/right tilt every time I game.
