Hello,

So I've had Shure SCL3 earbuds and they were great except the build quality was crap. One of the earbuds cracked recently and I'm not going to pay to have them fixed. Can someone recommend a good pair of earbuds as good or better than the SCL3's that will last? Thanks

What is your budget? If you are rough with your stuff, most if not all of these non-sport IEMS/earbuds will break. In order to keep them comfortable in your ears, they use lightweight materials which, if inexpensive, can break very easily. Accidentally stepping on them, or swinging them around and they hitting a hard surface even a single time can lead to structural compromise.

I don't usually like to use earbuds/IEMs due to comfort, but I've owned Etymotic er4p, altec lansing IM716, some ~60$ klipsch one, monster turbine, and none of them have broken on me, must less received any kind of scratch. When I did use them, I never let anything except my fingers and a cloth cushion contact them; they were never dropped...

Lastly, I strongly suggest you check out headfi. It is often difficult to audition IEMs to know which one has a sound quality balanced to your taste. Headfi has plenty of subjective reviews of IEMs of all budgets where you can compare what they hear to what you are familiar with to get an idea of what direction to take for what you want to purchase.

Hmm I was hoping to keep it between 100-150. Shure offered me SE315's for $96 in exchange for my broken SCL3's. What do you guys think?

Nuforce's are great. I ordered monster turbines for $50 and hope they're good - anyone have any hands on experience with them?
Thanks!

I'd jump on that.

The 315s are a great deal for $100 and they are very, very durable compared with your old SCL3s.

Ok I think I'm going to give Shure another try and get the SE315's. I really hope a cheap 10 cent plastic piece isn't going to cost me another $100 in 2 years though.
