Need new cooler for 5850

Something is severely wrong with the fan on the cooler for my HIS 5850, its grinding and makes horribly loud screeching noise, guessing its a worn bearing. Looking on Newegg I am unable to find any cooler that would work for this card. Can anybody point me to one?

Check out Arctic Cooling, they should have a bitchin solution for that card. Is it a reference cooler that is giving you problems? You should be able to RMA that card back to HIS as another option.

I enjoyed great temps and noise using the the basic Accelero S1 and a 120mm fan on a 8800gt and a 4850, but have also heard that one of the 2-3 fan extreme ones are bada$$ as well. The cooler fits multiple cards, so you may be able to get life out of it beyond your current application (investment).

Oh and if you get the Accelero S1 don't get the dual fan accessory piece that fits on it as an option, it sucks.

Did have a look at the Twin Turbo Pro, but I am reading with the 5850 there are issues with the DVI port being in the way and people are bending fins until they snap off to make the cooler fit. Can't say I'd be interested in doing that, heh.

Why not just RMA the card?

I looked into that, it is still under warranty...on HIS website it does say it will take 2-4 weeks to RMA, which really sucks. I do have an 8800GTS laying around I could swap out but it's not going to be any fun having to switch drivers and take the performance hit in games 😛

Maybe I should just buy a new video card altogether, RMA this one then sell it when I get that new one. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
