NEED NEW COMPUTER! NEED HELP BUILDING!

ok, like topic says. Im buying a new computer sorta. Ive got around $400-500 and i plan on buying...
motherboard
ram
processor
case

Just those 4 things, but i need to know ALL you can tell me about what the 4 BEST for that price range i have would be. i wanted atleast 256 ram by the way... 512 would be awsome.... So post EVERYTHING you can tell me.

512 pc 2100 crucial cas 2.5 - $65
basic case - $60

...This sound good? can i get somone to like rate this stuff or gimmie reviews or anything at all?

don't go for the 'basic' case, you'll kick yourself later after you cut off a few fingers. IMHO the Antec sx1040 is a great deal, and worth every penny (it's only $30 more than a plain old ATX case)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference between the 1040 and the 840 models from Antec is the locking front-cover and an inch or two more space in the 1040? Seems unnecessary.

krashx, what are you going to be using this for (what OS also), and what do you have now that you're not replacing?

you're right, but I couldn't think of the model # of the 840, so I didn't mention it 😱

Right now im running Windows ME, i got a Elsa Geforce 2 32mb GTS. Thats probably all im going to keep. But not sure yet. And that stuff i posted... hows it? And i didnt wanna spend $100 on a case? Are there any good ones for around like $70 and under?

what you listed is good...
u can also try the shuttle ak31 rev3 instead of the ECS board...
