Hi,

I'm looking for a new set of tires, but there are so many brands and types.
Anyone knows any site with tests, comparisons, etc??
Any good sites to buy over the internet? I just found TireRack.com. Any other site??

It's for my old Mazda (205/55 R 15 87V). The original Yokohamas were good for 12000 miles. Now I have Goodyear GT II, with more than 50,000.

Thanks for any suggestion,

Go with tirerack. Great prices and customer service. I've ordered from them numerous times without any problems. ANd the prices usually beat the pants off the local guys.

Edit: check out the Dunlop D60 A2 JLB. Nice tire, Consumer Reports #1 for the last coupla years, and a good price.

If you like the Goodyears, why not get another set?

Call up Tire Rack and speak to a rep. Luke is the guy I've dealt with in the past. Pretty knowledgeable guy. They should be able to make some reccomendations based on where you live, how you drive, and what price range you're lookin in.

Oh yea, you can even have them drop shipped to the shop that will be installing them. Just tell the tire store ahead of time and they should be fine with it. Just saves you the hassle of having to cart them around town.

Second edit: Those Dunlop D60's are great tires. I had a set of those before moving up to a high performance tire. Quiet on the highway and handle pretty well in the wet.

Thanks guys. I'll give them a call. It appears they don't make the same goodyears anymore.
There must be something similar, thou. Michelins are nice, but a bit expensive.

Anyone with experience with BF Goodrich and Dunlop? They are popular for the tire size I need.

I usually try to buy dunlops for my daily drivers, great tires. They also make some pretty good summer tires too......
edit: I've bought from tirerack 3 times, very happy each time, thats where all the tire stores ususally order their tires from too....

If you live near Spring Valley NY you can go to Kuli's. Great prices.

Spring Valley is in Rockland Co. just over the NJ/Bergen border.

I just put a set of Goodyear Eagle HP's on my grandmother's Saturn. You can't go wrong with one of the big names such as Michelin, Goodyear, BF Goodrich (made by Michelin), Dunlop, or Yokohama.

you know... I wouldn't get too wound out about tires... because eventually you are going to have to replace them... why order online from some far off place that will make you pay through your arse for the shipping of tires, why not get them locally, that way you can get a replacement tire quickly, if you have luck like me you'd get all the tires on, go about 5 miles down the road and have a nail stuck in the side wall of your tire... just buy it locally.
