My neighbor, my father, and I worked on it this morning. Got it all done. Even got the rotors turned.

It was more complex than it was made out to be.

It will be easier next time though....how much did it end up costing you?

That's only because it was your first time!
Do it a few more times and it will become easier and faster (although not cheaper).

Meanwhile, try not to look down on auto mechanics that do this kind of work for a living.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but if your rotors are scored too deeply to turn, they are pretty much dirt cheap to replace.

I just replace the rotors on my car whenever I do a brake job because all of the parts generally run me less than 50 bucks alltogether. I think rotors for my car are around 15 bucks?

Paying a professional to change them: ~$100 tops
Paying for your ER visit because something went wrong: you don't have enough for this visit to the trauma center.

I just went and bought some for my 98 toy. tacoma.. 4x4...... the front costs me 40 bucks. and the back are 20... I got the best ones they make, bascially just made out of a harder material...

it's easy to do yourself if you know how.. :) just don't screw up.... especially on the back.. if you have drums.... they can be tricky.

Man, you's have to be a real knucklehead to end up in the ER changing brake pads.
