The Q Continuum is a fascinating series. I enjoy every book that employs the Q character. I, Q is another great one.

I'm not so sure about that. I remember Malcom X saying that in jail he sat down and memorized every word in the dictionary.

A fun "back to the past" read is Eric Flint's 1632. A good more serious one is SM Stirling's Island in the Sea of Time.

Another excellent military series is The General by Drake and Stirling. I -think- book one is The Forge (check Amazon)
