Need mouse help :(

All of a sudden today my PS/2 mouse has started acting weird. It will move around the screen for a few seconds, then just stop, then will start moving again. I made sure the rollers were clean and everything's fine. I've tried 3 different PS/2 mice and they all do the same thing. Right now I'm using and OLD serial mouse and it works fine. I didn't install any new software or anything, so I don't have a clue what the problem is. The only thing I did notice was that I could hear a static-like sound through my speakers when I moved the PS2 mouse around. It does NOT make this noise since I plugged in this serial mouse. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping that my company will let me run to Wal-Mart to get a USB mouse.
