Here's the situation: my wife has a Logitech MX1000 wireless laser mouse and LOVES it. However, it causes interference with my equipment (go figure). So I need to get her a different mouse, wired or wireless, but she doesn't want to give up the design. There isn't a wired MX1000 available and she requires that side button in addition to the forward/back buttons and other buttons on the mouse. I haven't been able to find anything quite like it.

Any suggestions? Huge problem for me :(

Okay, she said her big requirement is three buttons on the side. I'm having a heckuva time finding one :p

Edit: Oh and she vetoed the MX Revolution with the side scrollwheel :p

what equipment? maybe there's a way to insulate that effect. and why would she veto the revolution? an expensive, but awesome mouse.

Mainly my Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard. It's an unfortunately expensive ergonomic keyboard that no one else I know makes. It has lots of interference problems with the MX1000. She doesn't like the side wheel on the MX Revo (I actually use a VX Revo).

mx1000 has encryption?
i never noticed it with mine.

i'm surprised she's not willing to give the newer mice a chance, the mx1000 wasn't that great. ithink its a bit plasticy ..esp the buttons on the side.

Do you know if the OS X version has those features?

At any rate I ended up ordering a wired keyboard, a newer version of the one I have. That should fix it. I couldn't for the life of me find another mouse with 3 good buttons on the side :p
