need mouse for Compaq CQ56 laptop

Most new laptops (including that one) don't have PS/2 ports. You need a USB mouse.

edit: Or a Bluetooth wireless mouse.

i have a normal wired optical mouse. can you link me an extension that works? via amazon. please.

i dont have blue tooth wireless mouse.
 
You'd need something like #1/3/5 in this search result (I've never had any of the small plugs work so I would avoid those) and have to carry an extra cord/adapter around with your laptop, or just buy a cheap USB mouse for the same price (or less) that will probably work better than your old PS/2 mouse, and you don't need to carry extra cables around with the laptop.
