Hello All, I'm new to the forums, am looking to upgrade my motherboard, my system is used exclusively for gaming and internet. I dabble a little in overclocking. I want to make my first attempt at installing the board myself. I have been able to install agp, pci cards, memory, change video drivers, flash bios, format , load drivers, software etc. so I feel I'm ready for this task (I guess!) I was originally set on an Asus A7N8X board but after cruising the forum I am a little concerned about the bios problems associated with this board. Are there any comparable boards that you could recommend from other manuf. that are stable, easy to setup and maintain. I would like to stick to an nforce chipset. Great forum! Thanks

What specific things about your old motherboard are you looking to upgrade? Often times (not always) upgrading the motherboard means a new CPU and memory too. Otherwise you are just kind of replacing the motherboard. Are you looking for something that will work with the components that you have now but will give you an upgrade path? What are your future upgrade plans? What specifically are you unhappy about with your current motherboard?

Im looking to keep the components that I have, didn't do my homework when I bought my current board and found out too late it's not really suited to gaming apps. would like to change only the motherboard at this time to something overclockable and more suited to gaming and video apps.

I don't think changing your motherboard will give you the performance boost your after. Upgrade the GPU instead.
