Need Motherboard Recommendations

Ok, It's been several years since my last build. I came here last time and got good advice so I'm here again! I'm looking to build a new computer with a Intel Conroe Core Duo processor. I definently want a motherboard that with mirror raid capabilities although I've never done this before. I'm planning on running 2 SATA drives for this. I am looking for a good solid mobo to build a decent but not overly expensive gaming rig. (Read wife/kid/budget) My original idea was to go with a AMD 939 or AM2 board but due to upgradability issues I think I will venture back to Intel. Any and all honest suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I still like the socket 939 boards and chips. They can still effectively run all the games/programs out there. With their limited life, the price only seems to drop faster every month. I think in the long run it would be cheaper to build a cheap 939 setup now and then wait for the next platform generation. Are you really going to notice much of a difference from 60 to 90 FPS?
