Acer 5000 series are very good for the buck, else if you want top of the line get the Acer Ferrari, or the Acer Lamborgini

they are both top notch

If it's for travel, size and weight matter, so the 2nd one is better in this regard. Of course, it is up to you if the 14.1" screen is big enough. Almost anything will be better than Intel GMA 950, so again the 2nd one. If the first one is a Core Duo/Core 2 Duo (see below), then it will be better than the AMD Turion; although this isn't to say that the AMD chip is bad, it will preform well.

Did we ever verify that this T2060 is a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo? I remember it coming up in another post, and none of the replies were sure about this chip. I couldn't find it on Intel's website.

It follows the naming convention for Core Duo/Core 2 Duo chips. A quick google search found this Toshiba with the T2060: Link, which calls it a Pentium D in the description, but a Core Duo in the details. Then this Acer: Link, which calls it a Pentium M!

If I had to guess, I'd say it's a Core Duo, but hopefully someone can clear this up.

Edit: Circuit City lists this CPU separately; types they list .... Core 2 Duo, Core Duo, Core Solo, Pentium Dual Core, Pentium M.......

They list 8 notebooks with a "Pentium Dual Core", all of which are the T2060.

However, Acer has a terrible track record for reliability. They always break, the HDD and the monitor are most susceptible.
