need more power for my subwoofer

i've got a subwoofer that I built, its a 10" truck wedge with a pretty ok speaker driving it. HOWEVER i need more power into it. I have an amp but there's no bass circuit built in, so i've hard wired my other powered system's subwoofer into this one, so its just picking up the bass. However i want more power- how shall i do this? is there some hardware i can get that pumps more power in those frequencies?
