Ok, Im 16, Im gonna go to a state university through my high school youth options program(for free) next semester, I can take 6-9 credits a semester. If I minor in computer science what willI get? A small degree? Become smarter and thats all?

What exactly does the computer science degree cover? Im not sure what I want to do for a career, but Im just gonna start taking college classes anyway since they are free and they will be counted as high school credits as well as college credits. Thats why i was thinking about minoring in Computer science, that way when I finish high school I will have my minor already done.

I dont see my high school counseler until monday, so I would like some advice from other people who have already been through college. Should I just start and my bachelors degree even though Im not sure if thats what I want to do for the rest of my life?

Just a sidenote, I cant take general classes because my high school offers general math and language classes.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

IIRC, most CS deals with the programming while Computer engineering deals with the creation of hardware.

You will need the entire Calc sequence (I,II,III, DiffEQ), basic programming classes, physics, etc. For the first couple years of college, they are pretty generic classes. My advice is get as many of the crap classes (composition, psych, public speaking, etc) outta the way. However, save a couple extremely easy ones for your later years.
