First If you don't own GTA1: http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/?id=1

If you really want to play GTA London 69 & 61:

Since this is Abandonware.

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto:_Mission_packs

1969: http://www.old-cans.com/en/grand_theft_auto_london_1969/

From the .zip file in the Grand Theft Auto London 1969 folder in the gta data folder copy the UK folder to the gtadata folder of your Grand Theft Auto folder in Steam.

Also from the .zip folder in the gtawin folder copy the gta_uk.exe to the WINO folder in your Grand Theft Auto Folder in Steam as well.

Then your WINO folder in the Grand Theft Auto folder in Steam you can right click and copy GTA_UK & on your desktop right click and select paste shortcut.

Or add a shortcut in Steam by clicking Games then Add Non Steam Game to my Library and click Browse and goto the folder where the gta_uk.exe is explained above.

GTA London 1961: http://www.rockstargames.com/gtalondon/ftp/Gta1961/Gtal1961.exe

To install GTA: London 1961. You'll need a program like 7-Zip. Right click on GTA11961.exe and select 7-zip then extract archive and extract the contents in a folder called GTA1961 on like your Desktop as you can delete the folder when you are done. Run the Setup file in the folder and it will say GTA London 1969 not detected. Just click okay and install it in the Grand Theft Auto Folder in Steam.

Now go in the Grand Theft Auto folder in Steam. You will find a gtawin and gtados folder. Delete the gtados folder. Go in the gtawin folder and cut and paste the Gta_61.exe in the WINO folder.

Then delete the gtawin folder too.

You can also delete the London61 windows batch file in the Grand Theft Auto Folder.

Then download this fixed Gta_61.exe with no cd check & extract it in the WINO folder: http://gtamp.com/GTA1/gta1-1961-nocd.rar found here: http://gtamp.com/gta1/

You can then go in the WINO folder and like explained above make a desktop shortcut of Gta_61 or add a shortcut in steam.

The company Runecraft which developed this mod is gone.

Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Also for Widescreen: Try going in your Video card settings and setting Video Scaling to full panel.

Set a Resolution in game by pressing F11 that looks good full scaled.

If you have GTA 1 issues: Try going in the Grand Theft Auto folder then the WINO folder and right clicking on Grand Theft Auto. Goto Properties then click on the Compatibility tab. Then select Run this program in compatibility mode for: & select Windows XP Service Pack 3.

In game press F11 and play in 800X600 32 might help with issues too.

Hope this helps. Also F8 I think is the Frame Limiter which you want on.

If you still have issues use the Grand Theft Auto I Launcher: http://gzwn.net/gta1launcher/

OR

GTAFixer: http://gtamp.com/GTA1/GTAFixer.rar found here: http://gtamp.com/gta1/

Thanks for this...seems quite involved though, ha. I couldn't resist picking up the GTA "Complete" pack on steam for $12. I already had played GTA4 on the 360 and owned San Andreas, but still couldn't pass this up.

Liberty City Stories & Vice City Stories PC MOD coming sometime in Fall.
Here is the official forum with News on when these mods will be finished: http://lcsteam.net/community/forum/index.php/topic,317.0.html

Here is a link for the 3.1 beta of Liberty City Stories if you just can't wait & wanna mess with it now. Just remember it's an old beta of it: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=424287 (There is other beta download links. Unknown what the latest version was as the new mod will be much better.)

Kind of like the Doom 64 PC mod or Half-Life Decay on PC. Or the PS2 Half-Life model packs for PC. Or The Half-Life remake for the Source engine called Black Mesa.

Not the first time a console only game has been ported to PC. Or an older PC game gets ported to a newer game engine.

Plus Modders are busy porting GTA 3, Vice & San Andreas to the GTA 4 engine.

Even mods of like GTA 3 & Vice City in San Andreas.

So this looks cool. Can't wait. :)
