Hi everybody.

I have the LG M2380D which has a LCD 8-bit panel.
I´m considering buying the upcoming Asus PB278Q which is IPS (PLS) 100% sRgb but it seems to be a 6-bit + HiFRC panel, so now i´m worried about the color deph: Will i lose color quality and accuracy with the change?

Sorry for my english and thank you!

The color depth of 6-bit FRC is similar to 8-bit - you lose a bit at the high-end - so some of the very light shades get blown out to pure white, or a very bright color.

However, the main problem that bothers some people (it bothers me terribly) is the shimmering and flickering of the pixels.

FRC simulates 8 bit color by swapping pixels between 2 near colors very quickly. Some people notice the flickering of the pixels as they change color. It looks a bit like an old analog TV with a slight amount of static in the picture.
