Need modem help!!

I am installing a diamond supraexpress in my Athlon k7m asus system there is one isa slot and the modem is ISA I disabled comm 1 and 2 in bios and install the modem after shutdown the modem will disapear from device manager yet still show in modem properties I am at a loss at how to install this modem Even Diamond MM said he could no help as it s a motherboard situation. I removed the jumpers from the modem making it PNP but still win 98 se will not detect it If i format and reinstall win 98 se it would work all help appreciated
