Hello all,
Just had a friend call up with a burned out mobo. Needs a upgrade ASAP, next day air so we can build this thing by the weekend.

Anyway, it's been awhile since I have kept up with the technology. My latest system is a Asus p4b266c if that gives you any idea.
He is interested in a P4 - 533/Intel chipset, RAID, onboard sound replacement. Focusing on stability rather than overclocking, it's a
graphics/office box rather than a gaming box.

No need for onboard LAN or any other extras although he will pay for those if it includes the above options.

Thanks in advance for any advice. Oh yeah, no offense meant but NO Abit please.

Had to order it so I went with a Albatron PX845PE Pro IIS.

Looks like a decent board with some good reviews and know a couple people
with Albatrons and are happy with the quality/performance.

Anybody have experience with this specific board?

I have no personal experience with Albatron but it is a 3rd or 4th string player. You could have gotten an SiS based solution from a first or 2nd string maker for equal or less money.

I have an Albatron vid card and I'm happy with the quality of it, as well as its perfomance. Good overclocker.

Here's what Tomshardware had to say about the mobo:
