I'm planning on building a budget system for my mom. The main use will be web browsing and occasional gaming by the grand kids.

Any suggestions on what mobo/cpu to get? Since the demands will be pretty low, is it okay to get a board like the Microstar MS-6340 that has built in audio/video?

Buy her an iMac. Seriously. You can get an older one for about that. Super easy to use - very "mom-friendly."

If you build a system from parts, for that price, you'll have to buy reeeeeeeally cheap sh*t (good thing this forums screens those words - you'll never gues what it is, right?). Heck, a good mobo is half that. But if you do build a PC, I'd say that any integrated board would be fine. I'd still recommend an Intel BX board - rock-solid, and certainly fast enough for her.
